Sun Valley Swim Pool Since 1953
Dear Members,
The start of a New Year is always a good time to reflect on the past year and to start looking forward to the next. The new 2010 board members would like to share our successes and learnings from 2009 and plans for the upcoming 57th year for Sun Valley Pool.
A quick look back on 2009:
* We added 35 new members in 2009, bringing total membership to 170
member families--a great accomplishment!
* Thank you to all the volunteers who continue to make this the best community and family-based pool in Lamorinda. Your efforts allowed us to maintain Lafayette's longest swim season available and keep our costs low.
* Capital improvements over the past few years include complete remodeling of our pool's shell, electrical and safety updates, remodeling of our bathrooms, installation of the shower mosaic, replacing solar panels, and adding a built-in barbecue for the back patio.
What's new for 2010:
* A $30 rate increase to your annual dues, and your payment is due prior to opening day (for more details, please see your renewal packet, which will arrive in early February). For only $3.00 a day, Sun Valley continues to offer a wonderful recreational and family-based environment.
* Sun Valley will open earlier and close later than any other local pool, offering Lafayette's longest swim season available. Our pool is open for approximately 3,120 hours a year!
* We will continue to offer the finest water quality in the county.
* Capital improvements needed this year include installing a new heater, patching the pool deck, improving the back patio, purchasing new pool covers, and adding shade for the pool deck.
* A renewed commitment to involving our members in volunteering at the pool with gate duty and work parties to keep our costs low and keep our pool open longer.
* Referrals, referrals, referrals! This year's referral program means you can help the pool stay financially strong and earn a work party furlough for your family when you refer any new member. Contact Trish Van Ormer, Membership, for more information.
We look forward to another great season at the pool. Opening day is Sunday, March 28--see you there!
